Isn’t change good? I have become very optimistic these last few months. With that, I have learned that change can be very scary but it also opens you up to opportunities that you otherwise would not have thought of. As many of you may know here in the state of New Jersey we were mandated to close all non-essential businesses for the past few months. Included in those businesses was my hair salon and it greatly impacted me and my family. My instinct is to always go into survival mode and find ways to offset the lack of income I wouldn’t be receiving and find ways to supplement my income. I have always been a hustler by nature and so the idea of using resources that I had at my disposal was very natural to me. What I wasn’t prepared for was the stress and anxiety this left me with.
One thing that I have come to love about myself is that I have a tenacious spirit. My motto is “Don’t make excuses, and find a way”. If you want something bad enough you will do whatever is necessary to get it. I have shifted my focus off of the things I can not control and refocused on the things I can. In a few short weeks, I will be chasing my dream. Again, embracing a new change in my life. This however is a very much welcomed change, fingers crossed. This has become my moniker as we approach the next few months of 2020 we will be faced with many more challenges. How will you adapt to these changes? Will you face these challenges head-on or will you allow fear to hold you hostage? I challenge you to plan out the next few months of 2020 with the idea that you are changing your life for the better. Change the way you view this next season in your life.
