Best Facial Oil For Acne Prone Skin

A few months ago I shared some of the best products that have helped to transform my acne-prone skin. I have suffered from acne for so long it had taken over my life. I can now say that I have a regime that keeps my skin clear and blemish-free. For many years I have heard that acne-prone skin wasn’t suitable for facial oils due to the fact many were non-comedogenic. Basically, oils would clog the pores and create more or aggravate the existing acne. So I always stayed away from them, until now.

In this video below I share with you all of the products that have helped me maintain my skin and they are all very affordable and easy to find. My favorite facial mask is made right in my very own kitchen. However, my newest facial oil has changed my skin completely.

Dermalogica has created the perfect facial oil for acne-prone skin. It has a mixture of Retinal & Salicylic acid. Together these ingredients have become the perfect soothing facial oil. This retinol clearing oil is applied to my skin at night to help reduce the signs of aging and the Salicylic Acid helps to prevent and clear breakouts. Since using this oil the texture on skin has also been reduced and my skin has a smoother appearance. Not to mention I have not had a breakout since using it. 

How I Use It

The best way that I’ve found this product to work has been to use it after I deep cleanse my skin at night. This will consist of the following:

1. Removing my makeup,

2. Cleansing and exfoliating

3. Steaming my face

4.Then applying 2-3 drops of the smoothing oil to my face and neck

5. Lastly, going over my skin with my Jade Roller for optimum absorption.

I find that when I steam my skin and use my Jade roller to help the oil penetrate better my face feels refreshed and all of my other facial products work better. In the morning my skin looks so vibrant even if I didn’t get much sleep and my sunscreen applies better as well. The Retinal is also a plus because it helps reduce the signs of fine lines and hyperpigmentation which is a huge thing for African American skin. This is also why sunscreen is essential. I have used other Dermalogica products in the past and this one has by far exceeded my expectations. I will link all of my favorites by Dermalogia below as well as this Retinol clearing oil. All of the other skin products I love will be added to the list as well because they are still in rotation.
