What Is The Voloom Rootie Hair Tool :Demo

December 16, 2021 beauty

I’ve decided to start posting more of my YouTube videos here on my blog so that you can be updated on what’s new. As a busy content creator it makes it tough to post to all my social media accounts and I often find it confusing to reference something from one platform if you haven’t read about it here. With that, I wanted to start by posting my Voloom Rootie. Here is my recent hair tutorial/demo of the Voloom Rootie Hair Volumizing tool. Does it work on all textures of hair?

This hair demo will serve as a unboxing, demo, and styling tutorial. I show my before and after using this product and you will see in real time how I achieved the final look. I hope this tutorial helps you and you enjoy the new format here on the site. Happy Styling.

5 New Ways To Wear A Bold Red Coat

December 14, 2021 fashion

I love a good overcoat. Especially one with color. The problem is how many ways can you style it. For many years red has been my favorite color so it wasn’t unusual for me to purchase red everything for my wardrobe. A red overcoat is striking and eye-catching but finding new and innovative ways to wear your coat can be challenging. I wanted to share with you a few ways I’ve found to wear a bold red coat as well as some of my favorite style bloggers. I’m also going to share with you some inexpensive options to add to your wardrobe this season.

Black Out

If you’ve searched online you are likely to see a red coat paired with black. I mean it’s the perfect combination. Black dress pants, a little black dress, and even black with sequin. The options are endless. Did I mention this is the number one wardrobe look for the holidays? Next time you’re at that office holiday party or walking downtown during the holidays take a look at all the brightly colored red coats you see. They look is so festive and fun, no wonder you see it all over the internet.

I styled this look with a pair of my favorite black jeans and a long-sleeve knit shirt. To add another pop of red I paired the look with my favorite pair of red pumps. Can you believe I scored this coat for under $50? Because the look is so effortless and chic you can add any accessory you wish. A hat, colorful handbag, gloves, I can go on and on.

Denim Down

Another great way to style your overcoat would be to add denim from top to bottom. I happen to love this option as it gives you so many ways to accessorize the look. You can add construct or combat boots and even snakeskin. How about your favorite pair of flats? I am a high-heeled type of woman so a cute open-toe heel or ankle bootie would be fabulous. And because there are so many washes of denim you can dress the look up or down. My favorite wash happens to be dark demin for its slimming effect. Also, consider the style of jeans you choose. Wide leg, skinny leg, or boyfriend jeans, again you can completely change up the look.

Animal Print

I don’t care what anyone says, animal print will always be on-trend. As long as we have different animals to choose from, the prints will be here to stay. If you’re feeling spicy add some animal print to your red overcoat outfit. It will elevate the look from conservative to wild and flirty in seconds. One of the ways I’ve incorporated animal print into my look has been in my shoes. I have a few pairs of animal print shoes in different colors and they are amazing. I’ve also added printed handbags and clutches. If you’re not as daring, think about a scarf to drape over the shoulder or even a belt. Something small that breaks up the look.  You might also like a headband or gloves if the weather permits.

Texture & Leather

Those leather skirts and pants you have in the closet, it’s time to pull them out. I am a huge fan of adding a leather skirt and suede boots to my overcoat outfits. I do it every year. Grab a turtleneck, a leather skirt, a pair of tights, and grab that coat. It’s so simple and chic. Here is an example of this look using my gray overcoat. As you can see, I love colored coats for the fall and winter. But layering different textures really helps to make any outfit stand out. Think leather and fur, silk and suede. Ugh, I’m getting excited thinking about it.

Chunky Scarf

The most inexpensive way to accessorize a red coat, add a scarf. Trust me, this method can completely change the way your outfit looks. Not only are scarves inexpensive, but it’s also an item we all have in our wardrobes.

@Wendy’sLookBook

Think about it, you want to elevate your current wardrobe or maybe even downsize. It’s a great way to take a basic t-shirt, jeans, and color block. Red with a purple scarf or even red and yellow. Color blocking with a scarf can be so much fun. Let’s not forget scarves come in a variety of fabrics, lengths, colors, and textures. All of the essentials needed to build a fabulous wardrobe. You can also add a fur scarf. This is something I happen to do very often.

Red Coats Under $100

I searched all over the internet for the best red overcoats for women. These are of great quality and won’t break the bank. I do want to mention one of my favorite style tip, changing the buttons on your jacket and coats can take a coat from basic to expensive in seconds. Remember, quality over quantity, and buttons matter.

French Chic With Cabi

December 12, 2021 fashion

I’ve been keeping it real casual lately. Since I’ve been doing some holiday shopping I decided I wanted to be cute and comfortable. So when Cabi sent me this dress I fell in love. This is their popular cuddle dress and I find it so cozy to wear.. My favorite detail about this dress is the pocket detail. I mean who doesn’t love pockets on a dress. Cabi unquestionably thought about the modern women when designing this cuddle dress.

Even the fabric that they used to create this dress. It makes it so comfortable to wear. Because I wanted to have a French chic vibe I decided to add my favorite hat and my new favorite pair of boots. FYI, you will be seeing these boots for a while. If you are new here you may not know that I am a hairstylist and our wardrobe is always to wear black. It’s something I just can’t seem to escape. But if I’m going to wear black I’m going to make it as chic and as comfortable as possible. Below are all of the outfit details to re-create this look.

How to Use The Pixi Remedy Mask

November 29, 2021 beauty

Hi Queens, if you are new to my blog then let me be the first to tell you I am a Pixi Beauty lover. I have been using their beauty and skincare products for years now and I also love to talk about this brand. The Glow Tonic is a product I use easily 3x’s a week easily and make sure all of my friends try it. It’s a must-have for me. Today I want to talk to you about some new products Pixi Beauty has released. The Pixi Remedy Mask is a gel formulated to tone the skin.

The line features three formulations, Milk, Rose, and Vitamin-C. Each provides a level of hydration, soothing, and brightening. Let’s go through all the things you need to know if you’re thinking about purchasing these masks for your skincare needs.

Benefits

There are three masks in this collection and out of the three my personal favorite is the Vitamin C mask. I am a huge fan of vitamin c and have talked about it in detail multiple times HERE on the blog. Vitamin C has completely changed my skin in a positive way so I highly recommend it. I’m going to tell you this immediately, tight skin is going to be the first thing you notice after using this product. Not in a bad way. It will just feel like your skin isn’t as “loose”. That seems so funny to type but it’s the truth.

Next, you will see your skin look lighter and more even. I tend to have an oily T-zone and this product evened that out. As you can see from my pictures, my skin looks healthy and hydrated.

Not Your Average

One thing I want to note is that is not your typical face mask. I was taken aback when I opened up the jars. I was thinking I would get a creamy, thick facial mask like the ones I used to. These masks are gel and very light and cooling on the skin. I let my daughters try them out and that’s the first thing my youngest daughter noted, how cooling the gel was on her skin.

Additionally, they all smell really good. I know how we shop, if the products don’t smell good that’s a wrap. One of the great things about Pixi is that they use quality ingredients that don’t break out my sensitive skin. And as you can see, also great for kids to use as well.

Great for weekly or even nightly use. They are to be applied to clean skin and left on the skin for ten minutes. I have been using them during my weekly spa night at home and a few times for applying my makeup during the day.  My skin is hydrated and takes my makeup much better.

Here’s The Tea

As I mentioned I was taken aback at the jelly formulation then I realized. It’s the exact same formula as the sheet mask. You know the mask that comes in the pack and you have to apply it like a sheet all over the face. Yup, same formula. So this got me thinking…

Can I apply this product to my face using another form of hypoallergenic cloth for the same results?

Since then I have been on the hunt for the perfect material I can reuse and wash each week to duplicate an at-home facial sheet mask.

How I Use Them

Another way I have been using these masks is with my facial steamer. I really can’t go without it and now I have another way to incorporate it into my skincare routine.

I apply it to the skin and place a sheet of saran wrap on my face. Then I use my facial steamer. I am very careful not to allow my skin to get too warm but I love the way the steamer opens my pores. The saran wrap is to make sure the product doesn’t melt all over the place.

You can also do this by replacing the steamer with a warm towel. Lightly wet a towel and microwave for a few seconds. Place towel onto the skin and relax.

If you are on the fence about these masks look at the price and the amount of product you get in a jar. Pixi uses quality ingredients and they are safe for everyday usage. You can’t beat it. Pixi Remedy Masks are available at Ulta.com.

How I Cleaned and Organized My Spice Drawer

November 23, 2021 lifestyle

Hey queens,

Can I be real for a second, I am beyond unorganized. I mean, I try my best but sometimes life just gets crazy. Case in point this kitchen of mine. Once I started content creating full time I realized I have way too many items on my countertops and in my kitchen period. I immediately started to find a place for everything and organize my kitchen. Then it hit me. Like a ton of bricks, as I opened my drawers and saw the mess that I and my family created.

Yes, I said family because I’m not completely at fault here. Insert sneaky grin lol.

The button line is that I have too much stuff. Half of which I don’t even use. It’s like a sea of lost oddly shaped serving spoons and spatulas. I have truly had enough. It’s time to get it together. If you are watching my YouTube vlog series then you know I am doing a 30-day glow-up challenge and this includes getting my home in order.

My first order of business has been my spice drawer. Pray for me, because this drawer was a hot mess express, OK!. I found expired spices and seasonings. Multiple jars of salt and four containers of black pepper. Yes four, and all of them were open. Like what is going on in this house.

It has gotten completely out of control and today I am starting to re-organize my kitchen. It took 2 hours to clean, organize, label, and store all of my spices. Well maybe not all of them since I ran out of jars, but 95% of them. It was a labor of love but I’ll be honest. It was so satisfying to do. Although I haven’t completed my kitchen organization yet I wanted to share with you the before and after of my spice drawer.

I didn’t realize how happy this would make me. Especially since I’m not really into organization and labeling.

I think I may have been beaten by the home decor bug.

If you’re not following me on Pinterest, now would be the time to do so. I will be posting all of my home decor updates there as well as some of my inspo for the rest of my home remodeling.

Let me show you what I’ve done so far.

I picked up these spice jars and labels from Amazon. This process showed me that I had more spices than I thought and as a result I ran out of jars. Below are the jars I ordered but fill free to look around for more options.
